NIXSolutions: The Google Ads API New Features

The Google team announced the launch of the Google Ads API v8.1.0. The new version introduces two smart bidding features, according to the developer blog.

The data exclusion feature allows you to ignore conversion data for the specified dates. This option is useful if it is difficult to track the conversion on specific days.

Seasonal adjustment will inform the system about expected conversion changes, for example, due to upcoming promotions, says PPC.

The new version also includes recommendations for ads in smart campaigns. The system will suggest three titles and two descriptions if the advertiser specifies a landing page and a keyword topic. For this, the SmartCampaignSuggestService has been added.

Another innovation is the adjustment of the conversion value. It works by geographic location of users, type of device, and audience membership. The advertiser can use the ConversionValueRule and the ConversionValueRuleSet for adjustment, notes NIXSolutions.

The client libraries and client code must be updated to make the 8.1 API functions available. Library updates and code samples will be posted next week.
