Google has introduced a useful feature to its Chrome browser, allowing users to monitor the memory usage of open tabs, as reported by Lifehacker.
Real-Time Tab Monitoring
This feature works in real time; simply hover your mouse over a tab, and a pop-up window will display information about the tab’s RAM consumption. If you notice a tab causing your computer to slow down due to glitches or poor optimization, you can easily close it, notes NIX Solutions.
Enabling the Feature
Interestingly, this feature is not enabled by default for many users. To enable it, follow these steps:
- Paste “chrome://flags” into your address bar.
- Press Enter.
- Turn on the “Show memory usage in hovercards” option.
- Restart your browser for the settings to take effect.
Optimize your browsing experience by keeping tabs on memory usage with this new Chrome feature.
