Google developers continue to improve their Chrome browser for a more user-friendly experience on Android devices. The latest updates focus on notification management and enhanced security features.
Simplified Notification Management and Improved Security
The mobile version of Chrome for Android now includes a feature allowing users to block annoying website notifications with a single tap. Users can easily restore these notifications if needed. Additionally, an updated security tool operates in the background, automatically revoking permissions for websites that haven’t been visited in a while or potentially pose a security risk. Users can review the browser’s actions regarding different sites on a dedicated page, which also highlights other potential security issues, such as compromised passwords.
One-Time Permissions and Gradual Rollout
Chrome now offers the option to grant websites one-time access to the microphone, camera, and other permissions for single-use scenarios. For example, after a virtual doctor’s appointment, the browser automatically revokes camera access for the video call website. Currently, the notification blocking tool is available on Pixel smartphones, with plans to expand to more Android devices. adds NIXSOLUTIONS. The remaining new features are being gradually rolled out to all Chrome users on Android devices.
We’ll keep you updated on the availability of these features across different Android devices as Google continues to enhance Chrome’s functionality and security.
