NIX Solutions: Browser Prevalence for August

Statcounter has updated its browser prevalence statistics across all available platforms, reflecting the landscape at the end of August. The leader in the market remains unchanged, but there has been slight movement among other contenders.

Desktop Browser Market Share

In the desktop segment, Google Chrome continues to dominate with a market share of 64.54%, despite losing 0.18% in August. Microsoft Edge follows with a 13.78% share, experiencing a slight increase of 0.03%. Apple Safari, which is installed on 9.4% of surveyed computers, saw a growth of 0.3%. Mozilla Firefox holds fourth place with a 6.65% share, gaining a marginal 0.01%. Opera rounds out the top five with 2.43%, a small decline of 0.03% compared to July.

Mobile Browser Market Share

The mobile platform market presents a slightly different picture, notes NIX Solutions. Google Chrome leads with a 66.2% market share, although it experienced a 0.25% drop over the month. Safari follows with 23.26%, seeing a minor decline of 0.05%. Samsung Internet holds third place with 4.13%, dropping by 0.06%. Opera, however, saw a slight increase of 0.17%, bringing its share to 2.04%. UC Browser also gained 0.12%, reaching 1.78%.
