NIX Solutions: Google is Testing Search Results Highlighting with Wide Gray Bars

The users have noticed that Google is testing yet another version of mobile search results, reports SearchEngines.

SEO specialist Mark Osborne posted screenshots of a new Google experiment on his Twitter account using wide gray bars to separate search results. This styling applies to both organic and promotional results.

Google doesn’t officially comment on SERP experiments, so it’s hard to say if this will be applied to all search results. Western experts are rather skeptical about this kind of tests, saying that it is better for a search engine to focus on functional improvements to the search algorithm than to worry about presenting the results in a more beautiful way.

NIX Solutions notes that Google is constantly experimenting with the visual presentation of search results. So in May, the search engine experimented with a larger font for the heading of the first result in the search results, and in the tenths of July tested the additional highlighting of this heading with a bold.
