According to The Wall Street Journal, the US Department of Justice and prosecutors in several states may bring charges of antitrust violations to Google in the next few months.
Claims concern Google’s advertising business. Officials believe that Google has too much control in the field of advertising on the Internet, which is unfair to other market participants, says SEONews.
The Ministry of Justice may decide to indict in the summer, and the prosecution will be completed in the fall.
The antitrust investigation against Google was launched back in September 2019 by prosecutors from over 40 US states, notes NIX Solutions. Initially, it was supposed to concern the advertising policy of the company owned by Alphabet, but later the audit was expanded to other areas of the corporation.
