Mozilla has announced the release of Firefox 135, now featuring artificial intelligence (AI) integration. Unlike Microsoft Edge, which has its own Copilot chatbot, or Brave with Leo AI, Firefox does not develop its own AI assistant. Instead, it provides access to third-party chatbots such as Anthropic Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT, and others.
AI Integration and New Features
Previously marked as “experimental,” this feature was available to a limited group of users. Now, according to the official release notes, it will gradually roll out to all users, PCWorld reports. However, Firefox does not provide access to paid AI service plans—users must subscribe separately. To access AI features, click the Sparkle button in the sidebar. There, you can select your preferred AI provider or switch between them.
Another key improvement in Firefox 135 is enhanced protection against browser history abuse. Some websites manipulate navigation, preventing users from using the “Go to the previous page” button. Firefox now blocks such behavior, improving browsing security.
Firefox Translations has also received an update, now supporting simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, adds NIXSOLUTIONS.
Security has been further strengthened with improvements to the CRLite certificate revocation checking mechanism. Web servers must now provide proof of valid certificates, enhancing overall browser security.
