NIXSolutions: DuckDuckGo Launches Private AI Chat Service

The search engine DuckDuckGo has launched a free web client that combines several chat bots based on neural networks. The company explained how their service differs from all existing ones, and what AI models users can “communicate” with.

The main difference between DuckDuckGo AI Chat and other services is that the company replaces the user’s IP address when accessing AI models, so the user does not reveal their location or range of interests. This ensures enhanced privacy and anonymity.

Commitment to Data Privacy

In addition, by agreement with chatbot developers, the history of all requests is deleted within 30 days, and this data is not used for training neural networks. This commitment to data privacy ensures that user interactions remain confidential and are not utilized for improving the AI models.

Access to Multiple AI Models

Users can chat without registration or payment with several models: OpenAI GPT 3.5 Turbo, Anthropic Claude 3 Haiku, Mixtral 8x7B, and Llama 3 (both open source). Each chatbot has a daily request limit, which the company did not disclose. While the service maintains user anonymity, it does not prevent bans for violations of the license agreement, details of which can be found on the service’s website, notes NIXSolutions.
