Due to a glitch in Microsoft systems, apparently related to the Bing platform API, search services such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and DuckDuckGo have stopped working normally. Bing-related sites and services are either completely unavailable or respond intermittently.
The problems, which began at approximately 10:00, are believed to be related to the Bing API and have affected all services based on the Microsoft search engine. The Bing search service itself also suffered from a failure earlier but is now gradually starting to produce correct search results.
Effects on Alternative Systems and Responses
Alternative systems that use the Bing API, including DuckDuckGo and Ecosia, are not displaying search results. The Microsoft Copilot system is experiencing similar problems: when trying to perform a search, it denies users access to the results. Search queries for ChatGPT users with a Plus subscription, which should support Internet search, also do not work, with the system showing them an error.
Microsoft acknowledged the problem loading the Copilot service and stated that the company was “working to identify the cause of the issue.” At the same time, the Microsoft service performance monitoring platform does not show any service failures, adds NIX Solutions. The administrations of OpenAI and Ecosia have confirmed that there are problems with search functions on their platforms. OpenAI also added that they are investigating the problem.
