NIX Solutions: Google Expands AI Search Worldwide

Google has announced a large-scale rollout of its advanced AI search feature, AI Mode, which enables users to ask complex, multi-level questions and receive detailed, data-driven answers. The new tool will initially become available to users in the US before expanding globally.

AI Mode is built on the foundation of AI Overviews, a feature that provides AI-generated summaries at the top of search results. Despite some high-profile errors, such as suggesting glue as a pizza sauce alternative, AI Overviews has quickly gained traction. According to Google, it now serves over 1.5 billion users each month. As noted by TechCrunch, AI Overviews is now exiting testing and will be available in over 200 countries, supporting more than 40 languages.

Deeper Search, Smarter Shopping, and Visual Fitting

The newly introduced AI Mode is optimized for more complex tasks such as product comparisons and data analysis. Powered by Deep Search, it can break down queries into smaller topics, process dozens—or even hundreds—of related searches, and compile comprehensive answers with source links. According to Google, this technology significantly reduces the time needed for manual research.

In addition, an automatic shopping assistant has been introduced. It can monitor product prices and alert users when a price drops. A virtual try-on feature for clothing is also in the works. Users will be able to upload a photo of themselves and see how clothing fits in 3D, taking into account their body shape and the texture of the fabric. This feature is now entering testing via Search Labs.

Upcoming Features and Personalization Options

To power AI Mode and AI Overviews, Google uses a tailored version of the Gemini 2.5 model. Over time, some AI Mode features will be integrated into AI Overviews. Users will be able to ask questions related to topics like finance or sports and receive visual results such as graphs and tables.

Google is also integrating the Project Mariner AI agent, which can autonomously book tickets, make restaurant reservations, and search for events online, adds NIX Solutions. A forthcoming feature, Search Live, will allow users to ask questions via their phone’s camera, with real-time responses, similar to the capabilities of the Project Astra multimodal AI assistant.

Search personalization is also being enhanced. Users can opt to connect their Gmail or other Google services, allowing results to be customized based on personal data such as emails. Importantly, users retain full control over which apps and services they choose to link.

We’ll keep you updated as more integrations become available and as these features roll out globally.
