The radically updated Vivaldi 7.0 browser has been released, offering a redesigned interface, a widget panel on the start page, better tools for managing news feeds and email, the ability to watch YouTube videos without ads, and several smaller enhancements.
Refreshed Interface and Compact Option
The new interface brings a lighter, more stylish appearance, with reshaped elements and updated icons. Service elements, like buttons and menus, have been made larger, but users preferring the old design can switch to a compact interface in the settings. The “express panel” has also been optimized by organizing bookmarks into groups by default, making the start screen cleaner and easier to navigate.
Widgets and Improved News Tools
The introduction of widgets on the start screen transforms it into a personal information center. Users can access essential information like the date, time, news, calendar events, and personal notes all in one place. The news feed has been upgraded with topic-based grouping for easier navigation. YouTube subscriptions can now be added to the news section, allowing videos to be played in full-screen mode, detached, and ad-free. NIXsolutions adds that the email client now features a pop-up button for quick access to recent emails and offers fast switching between “Reply” and “Reply all” modes.
Faster Synchronization and Sidebar Sync
Synchronization has been significantly improved in Vivaldi 7.0, with near real-time updates now available for notes, bookmarks, and settings. Currently, this feature works only on the desktop version, but it will be rolled out to the mobile version soon — we’ll keep you updated. Sidebar elements, like web panels added in one browser, will now automatically appear in the “Windows” tab of other synchronized browsers, streamlining the user experience across devices.
Vivaldi 7.0 introduces meaningful enhancements for both aesthetics and functionality, with more updates expected in the near future.
